And this year, every pet can join in.
Whether your pet is coming to New Bahru on 6 June or wants to stay home, there is room in the Parade for all!
What is the Proud Pet Parade?
It’s exactly what it sounds like — a chance to show off the most important member of your family.
You and your pet walk the parade together, in whichever category fits you best or that you’ll have the most fun with. Bring your entourage!
Our judges watch, deliberate, and crown the winners. Prizes are handed out on the day.
That’s it. That’s the whole thing. It’s as joyful as it sounds.
How to Take Part:
In Person
Come down to Pasar Pink at New Bahru on 6 June with your pet and join the parade. Registration is FREE.

Online (NEW for 2026)
Because we know that not every pet can make it to the parade, for all kinds of reasons. This one’s for them.
Show us what your pet does that puts a smile on your face. A photo, a reel, something in between, however you want to show them off!
Post it on Instagram and let everyone fall in love with them.

Two Ways to Win:
Judges’ Award — we’ll compile all the entries and showcase them on screen at the parade. Our panel will review every single one and announce their winner on the day.
People’s Choice — the entry with the most likes wins. Rally your friends, share your post, and let your pet’s fan club do the rest.
The online competition is for pets who can’t be with us in person. If you’re joining us at New Bahru on 6 June, please enter your pet in the in-person categories on the day.
LOOKALIKE — UPDATED
Does your dog have star quality?
This year, the Lookalike category has a very special brief. The Singapore Repertory Theatre is bringing Legally Blonde – The Musical to the Esplanade Theatre in July, and they need two scene-stealing dogs to join Elle Woods and the Delta Nu sisters onstage.
The Proud Pet Parade is their casting call. We regret that this category is open to dogs only.
Bruiser Woods
We’re looking for Elle’s Wood’s ICONIC sidekick!
We are looking for:
- Small, blonde, and toy-sized.
- Calm around performers, lights, and applause.
- Happy being carried or sitting in a bag.
- Bonus points if they’ll run on cue for treats.
If your dog is ultimately selected, as “Bruiser” they will get a curtain call every night on stage— and a tiny pink graduation outfit!
At the parade, participants will strut down the pink carpet walk with their “Bruiser” in their most stylish carrier, followed by a pose moment for the judges.
They’ll be looking at how comfortable your dog is being held and carried, and how calm they stay in the moment.
Rufus
Do you own Paulette’s lovable companion?
We are looking for:
- A larger dog with personality to spare
- Adorably scruffy, quirky, or unconventional charm
- Friendly, relaxed temperament
- Comfortable walking onstage on a lead and receiving attention from performers
This one’s for the dogs who live for attention. At the Parade, participants will walk their “Rufus” to the judges on lead and be assessed on their interaction in this meet-and-greet moment.
If your dog’s love language is performing for an audience, this role has their name on it. (Don’t worry — there will be treats.)
The winners won’t just take home prizes. They’re taking home a chance to be a star.
FAQs
In person: The in-person parade is open to dogs and cats only. Different species have very different comfort levels, and bringing prey species (rabbits, birds, hamsters, fish, reptiles) and predator species (dogs, cats) into the same space can be stressful and unsettling for everyone involved. Dogs and cats will be kept in separate waiting areas, but please only bring your pet along if they are comfortable in loud, enclosed spaces and around lots of other animals. Their wellbeing comes first.
Online: The online competition is open to any pet that is legally kept in Singapore. Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters, reptiles, fish — if they’re your family, they’re welcome here. You do need to be resident in Singapore, because we need to be able to get your prizes to you!
The online competition is designed especially for pets who can’t join us in person. If you’re coming to the parade with your pet, please enter the in-person categories on the day.
Absolutely. Pets are family, and that doesn’t change. We’d be honoured to include them.
The roles of Bruiser and Rufus in Legally Blonde – The Musical are written specifically for dogs, so sadly this one isn’t open to our feline (or other) friends. All other categories remain open to dogs and cats!
